The United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, concluded a visit to Moscow Friday, where he discussed recent developments in Yemen and the region and their impact on the progress of peace efforts.
According to press release published by the Office of the special envoy , Grundberg met with senior Russian officials during his visit, and briefed them on recent efforts to support the parties in reaching an agreement on a roadmap to operationalize their commitments to a ceasefire.
Grundberg stressed his appreciation for the unity of the Security Council in support of peace efforts in Yemen.
He further highlighted the importance of sustained, concerted backing by the international community to facilitate a peaceful resolution to the Yemeni crisis.
