The United States Embassy and the E.U. mission in Yemen condemn in a separate statements the issuance of 100 YR coins by the by the Houthi rebels who are controlling the Sana’a headquarter of the Central Bank of Yemen.

While the E.U. mission statement said it is deeply concerned by the decision by the Houthis to issue 100 YR coins, which is triggering an escalation in the economic field, the U.S. embassy statement said the Houthis actions threaten to further divide Yemen’s economy, undermine the integrity of Yemen’s banking sector and jeopardize Yemen’s adherence to international standards to combat terrorist financing. It added "Counterfeit coins must not be further introduced into the market".

The E.U mission statement also added “Unilateral decisions that risk deepening the fragmentation of Yemen’s economy, undermine the banking sector and the country’s compliance with international AML-CTF standards do not help the cause of peace or the wellbeing of Yemenis.

Both the U.S. Embassy statement and the E.U. mission statements stated that they will continue supporting the role of the Central Bank of Yemen in Aden in maintaining the stability of the country's financial sector
