The ongoing reduction in humanitarian funding is taking a serious toll on the nutrition response across Yemen, according to a recent report issued by Nutrition Cluster.

One of the hardest-hit areas, according to the report, is the operation of Therapeutic Feeding Centers (TFCs), which As of May 2025: 25 Partners operating in 16 governorates and 91 districts have reported ceasing or scale-down of nutrition interventions.

22 Therapeutic Feeding Centers (TFCs), run by 7 partners in 22 districts, have been handed over to the local Yemeni authority without operational costs and incentives for doctors.

385 Outpatient Therapeutic Programs (OTPs) run by 18 partners in 67 districts are affected due to funding for the operational costs and perdiems for health workers.

2,212 Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programs (TSFPs) supported by 17 partners across201 districts in 18 governorates have also been affected.

The report found that “These setbacks compromise the ability to reach malnourished children, particularly those in remote or high-risk areas, and threaten to reverse hard-won gains in child survival.

In this fragile and fast-changing context, the report concluded,  the Nutrition Cluster can stretch limited resources further and reach those most in need. Donors and partners are encouraged to stay engaged, support joint prioritization, and continue investing in high-burden areas to avoid a deeper nutrition crisis.
